A great game if your craving more of the traditional DBZ fighter games like the classics. A must have for fans of the series or fighting game lovers. So-so game. Not many playable characters. I recommend Dragon Ball Fusions instead, it is an rpg game but the gameplay is better than this game and there are way more playable characters. I like the fact that the characters have the original voices.

I also like the different game modes, which are Super fun to play. Wish it had ssj blue vegeta as a playable character though. Brandon Williams. It’s ok for what it is but I love dragon ball for life also got this for my little brother. Although the characters are in 2D, the graphics is still great. Playing against computer is a little too easy. Very enjoyable for Dragonball fan.

The game is engaging and the fact that it’s a hand held can be a plus since you can play on the go. However, this product is definitely controversial with its extremely misleading advertising. It states there are over characters in this game but only 25 are playable. The rest are used as Z-Assists which basically means that they jump out on the screen to do a specific task before disappearing. For instance, selecting Super Saiyan 4 Goku will have him appear next to your character and begin charging a KamehamehaX I was aware of this fact going into the game and I was generally satisfied with the roster and gameplay but I feel that important characters were forced into Assist roles which forced me to face the same opponents over and over.

Ultimately the purchase is your decision and I think it comes down to your feels on roster and combat. The fighting system is great and full of enjoyable combos but the options for playability are lacking. You can never go wrong with a DBZ game if your a fan of the series. If your not a fan, but enjoy fighter games this would be a great addition to your game library. You have plenty of things to unlock as you progress through out the game.

Anyone can pick this up and play as the tutorials will make it easy to learn with no time at all. Kimberly Luptowski. Very similar to the older dragon ball game. You start out playing in story mode and play as all characters then You get to choose who you want to play as and see things through that characters eyes.

You get to explore the what ifs and see what happens if the story line changed. A budget fighter during a drought of handheld DBZ games! Made by Arc System Works, this game offers a smaller, more balanced roster of combatants along with a plethora of assists. The fighting is solid, and its really fun to experiment with combos for each character! The sprite art is excellent as well, and is refreshing to see in a fighter these days. The main complaints I hear are no training mode and no online, both of which are on the way in an update.

If you love DBZ and want something to play on the go, this game is for you. Jaime Robledo Ochoa. The best DBZ game for a portable console Great 2D fighting. The retrolio preorder came with some neat bonuses like a Super Nintendo download. Gonzalo Campos. Alan Ricario Batres. This is the best game ever! It is epic and fun. I’ve played it so much and it just gets better and better!!

Recommend it to everyone. There is gods and saiyans. Every character is unique and fun to play. It never gets boring as we have every form of Gokus that shows up.

Assist or not. Ssj4 Gogeta? Even if it’s just an assist. All the characters have recongnizable attacks. If you’ve seen the anime or movies you can see each spectacular movement.

If you want a fun and addicting game, here it is! Eric Miles Ruth. I love the game so far, only been playing for about an hour and a half and the only issues I have with it so far are some of the translations. Referring to vegeta as human basically you should watch the show or whatever before playing because some things may not make sense or be exact with the story.

The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because I pre-ordered the game a month prior to release and didn’t receive any downloads for my bonus content, but I’m currently trying to contact the shop and get that figured out. Honestly supremely underrated.

For somebody like me who used to play the classic DBZ fighting games from the PS1 era, I feel that the quality of this game is sufficient. Simple combo systems but there different ways to play each character. A lot of content to unlock and great characters to play as.

Animations are beautiful, art style is beautiful. Overall great looking game. Jonathan J. Rated 2 out of 5. It’s an okay game.

Pretty easy and very repetitive. The Japan version has online multi-player but the US version does not so it gets boring pretty fast. I’m a huge DragonBallz fan and know the story backwards and forward, with that said I would not recommend this for newcomers as it skips every thing but the most important points.

Most of the characters have their own “story” but it’s mostly the same thing as the main story repeated over and over again.. I repeat over and over again.. About 20 times.. I bought it on sale for 15 dollars and still think it was not worth it. If they would add online it might save the game but for now it’s not much fun. Great game! My husband loves it, so as long as he’s happy; I’m happy.

I’d say this would be a great addition to any DBZ fan’a library. Paul Fairclough. Dragon Ball Z is perhaps one of my favorite franchises of all time and this game does it justice. Usually the fighting mechanics can be difficult to learn but this isn’t the case here. I could easily pick this game up and start playing it immediately. Characters, locations, sounds all match the series.

Fantastic game for DBZ Fans! I bought this for my nephew for Christmas. He absolutely loves the game. He will not put it down. He is 8 years old. Amanda Scott. The game showed up a lot quicker than I expected and both it and it’s case were both in great condition. Buying this used saved me about 40 bucks and I got a like new product. I would definitely buy from them again. Good game but its not as long as I expected but all the characters and storylines are great. Jim Grue. Xzoelvatress N Divinity.

For those people that grew up watching dragon ball and can’t seem to get tired of the story, even when being repeated over and over in video games, this game is for you. It is a good title with good 3DS graphics.

Gameplay is good as well. There doesn’t appear to be much to complain about with this title. Made by Arc System Works, this game offers a smaller, more balanced roster of combatants along with a plethora of assists. The fighting is solid, and its really fun to experiment with combos for each character!

So I’ll leave it at that. Is it a must buy? But if you have a few bucks lying around, why not Can’t go wrong with a very well liked title. My 8, 6, and 4 year old boys love the game. They play it, enjoy the animations and the characters.

Great to see my kids growing up to enjoy the same cartoons I enjoyed when I was a child. Fluent sprite based combat allows for far more combo potential than most 3D offerings. It’s an amazing game that gets overlooked. My daughter loved this game from the getgo When was the last time your kid said, “Mom, you’ve gotta see this! Charles Martinez. Ron Romney. Love it but I got everything in the game in three days its a short fighting but good game love everything about it.

Rob E. Shakim H. Amanda Himebaugh. I bought this game for my boyfriend. He likes it even though when the characters talk it’s in Japanese but the game is in English. Daniel Lee Gallegos. The graphics are very close to GBA. The fighting is averageThe number of playable characters are very small.

Why a lot of supporting characters but few main? If people hate GT, why add GT characters to this game? Personally, i like GT. The story is watered down completely nor does it actually follow the anime or manga.

The music is terrible. The voices are terrible. The bonuses are even worse. What is the point of earning zeni?

Add to cart. Select options. Andrew Rayburn. Rated 3 out of 5. The game isn’t bad. I pre-ordered to get the bonus downloadable SFC game that had been available only in Japan until now.

It’s too late to stop anybody from pre-ordering, but I thought I should bring it up. Rated 5 out of 5. Eddy Sanchez. Rated 4 out of 5. It is not a bad game. It has a slight feel of “Street fighter” to me, but with Dragon Ball Z characters. John Galeazzi. Joshua Sumter. Everett P. First off, what kind of game is this? It’s a Tag Team 2D fighter, you can select up to 3 characters per team or 2 characters and 2 assists or 1 character and 4 assists.

Right off the bat you have most of the cast of fighters available, but the rest need to be unlocked through the game.

For the playable fighters you have all the fighters you’d expect to see in a DBZ game but you also have some of the more obscure characters from Dragon Ball all the way to GT and the new movie characters as assists. All of the voice overs are original Japanese which is fine for me but if you were expecting to hear the US version of your favorite characters, you won’t. The game play is sweet, it feels really natural fighting and for the most part the frame rate is steady and plays smoothly.

When multiple assists are out and there’s lots of special effects on the screen, the game does tend to slow down a bit but it’s really not too distracting or bad for the experience. Combos are relatively easy but also have a layer of depth as you can create follow up sequences by dashing or mixing in special attacks at the end of a combo to rack on additional damage. It plays like most fighters, you have your health and meter and can perform special moves and combos depending on your meter available.

While fighting you can tag in a partner to swap fighters and continue a combo or save them for later. It’s a decent game. I’m not really big into fighters, but love Dragon Ball. It has good gameplay and the extra modes are hard as fudge, so hardcore players should like this.

Not a huge cast of characters, which is normal for fighters, but there is a bunch of assist characters to help give you an edge. If you are looking for an expansive DB game, this isn’t it. If you like fighters, than buy it. Honestly i missed this type of Dragon Ball Z game, all of the recent games stick with open world battles which theirs no problem with that, i just prefer the classic side by side fighting style no movement just good old left, right, up, and down, control scheme.

Besides that Extreme Butoden features over Characters meaning you have your actual fighters and then you have characters that exist as assist partners. A great game if your craving more of the traditional DBZ fighter games like the classics. A must have for fans of the series or fighting game lovers. So-so game. Not many playable characters.
