Microsoft outlook 2013 is requesting data from the server free download. Only a subset of your Exchange mailbox items are synchronized in Outlook

 

I keep getting this error message outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft Exchange server. The exchange server is and has been recently updated clients are a mixture of XP, windows 7 and windows 8 although this doesn’t make a difference because i get the issue over each OS email is slow and this message pops up on a handful of machines its start to wind me up now any suggestions to get rid?? Users have more then one device accessing the same information at the same time.

Also Mailbox size can be an issue, i turned on Cache mode on a few users that were problematic and it seemed to clear their issues. I get this on a single machine, I presume you have checked resources on the server, and checked the dns? I used to have this issue with a bugged AntiVirus package that was scanning the information store and locking the database in some way. I would ensure that the database files, the log files, and the swap file are all on seperate set of spindles.

What does your RAID configuration look like for the server? I ran into this problem when I upgraded to Exchange , but my clients were still using Office It had something to do with Outlook trying to poll the server every 60 seconds, but Exchange does not work like that.

This caused emails to not be sent immediately, and also when a message was deleted, it would stay in the inbox, but a few seconds later would disappear or an error message would pop up. The easiest solution for me was to upgrade to Outlook as we were doing a massive upgrade of our systems and workstations.
